Everything you need to know before, during, and after your move. No fine print surprises.

Section 1

Walkthrough Booking Policy

Your $50 priority reservation secures your virtual walkthrough slot. The walkthrough is a 10 to 30 minute video call where we confirm your inventory, assess access, and lock in your guaranteed flat rate.

Your $50 is applied to your final balance

The priority reservation is not an additional charge. It is credited toward your total moving cost. Nothing is added on top of it.

Rescheduling. Need to move your walkthrough time? Text us at 540-300-1414 at least 24 hours before your scheduled call and we will get you rescheduled at no charge.

Cancellations. If you decide not to move forward after booking your walkthrough, your $50 is fully refunded. Just let us know before your scheduled walkthrough time.

No-shows. If you miss your scheduled walkthrough without prior notice, the $50 reservation is forfeited and is non-refundable. If something came up, text us right away and we will do our best to work with you.

Scope of your guaranteed price. Your flat rate covers only what we visually confirm during the walkthrough. Any rooms, items, or spaces not shown on the video call are not included in the final price.

Section 2

Move Cancellation Policy

After your virtual walkthrough, a $450 move deposit locks in your moving date and confirms your crew. That deposit is applied toward your final balance. Your cancellation window depends on your move date and the time of year.

The move deposit is not a fee on top of your price. It is part of your total moving cost, paid upfront to hold your date.

Peak Season (May through September)

Peak season policy is stricter

Summer months are our highest-demand period. Crew slots and truck availability are limited. Cancellations during peak season leave gaps we cannot always fill on short notice.

Rescheduling. Need to change your move date rather than cancel? Text us as early as possible. We will do everything we can to accommodate a reschedule, subject to crew and truck availability.

If we need to cancel. In the rare event VYV must cancel your scheduled move, you will receive a full refund of all amounts paid and we will work with you to reschedule at no additional cost.

Section 3

Damage & Liability

VYV is a licensed and insured moving company operating in Virginia. We take care of your belongings. In the event of damage, our liability is governed by the following terms.

Released value protection (included at no charge). Unless you arrange separate insurance, our liability for damaged or lost items is limited to 60 cents per pound per article, which is the standard released value rate established under federal and Virginia moving regulations. For example, a 50-pound item would carry a maximum liability of $30.00 under this coverage, regardless of its actual value.

Released value may not cover your belongings at full replacement cost

If you own high-value items such as antiques, artwork, electronics, or jewelry, we strongly recommend purchasing a separate moving insurance policy or confirming coverage under your homeowners or renters insurance before moving day.

Items excluded from coverage. VYV is not liable for damage to items that were:

  • Packed by the customer (not professionally packed by our crew)
  • Already damaged or in poor condition before the move
  • Not included in the virtual walkthrough inventory
  • Items of extraordinary value not disclosed at the time of booking

Reporting damage. Any damage must be noted on the moving day paperwork before the crew departs. Claims reported after the crew leaves and after paperwork is signed may not be accepted. If you notice damage during the move, say something immediately.

VYV is not liable for delays caused by weather, road conditions, acts of third parties, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Section 4

Privacy Policy

Validate Your Vision is committed to protecting your personal information. This section explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect. When you use our online Moving Blueprint Builder or contact us, we may collect:

  • Name, email address, and phone number
  • Home address and destination address
  • Move details (home size, items, dates, services requested)
  • Device and browser information collected automatically by analytics tools

How we use it. We use your information only to:

  • Respond to your estimate request and schedule your walkthrough
  • Communicate with you about your move
  • Improve our website and services through aggregated analytics data

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. This tool collects anonymized data such as pages visited, time on site, and general location. It does not collect your name or contact details. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Form submissions. Our estimate form is processed by Formspree. Your submission data is transmitted securely and stored on Formspree's servers. We do not sell or share your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes.

Text messaging. Our phone number is text-only. When you text us, standard message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan. We do not enroll you in any automated messaging program without your explicit consent.

Data retention. We retain your information only as long as necessary to fulfill your move and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your data at any time by texting or emailing us.

Your rights. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at hello@validateyourvision.com.

Cookies. Our site uses cookies for analytics and to remember your preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not function as expected.

Section 5

Terms of Service

By using validateyourvision.com or booking a move with Validate Your Vision, you agree to the following terms.

Accuracy of information. You agree to provide accurate information when using our Moving Blueprint Builder. Your guaranteed flat rate is based on the details you supply and what we confirm during your virtual walkthrough. Inaccurate or incomplete information may result in a revised price.

Guaranteed flat rate. Your price is locked in only after your virtual walkthrough is complete and your move deposit is paid. Price ranges generated by the online estimator are estimates only and are not binding quotes.

Items not covered. We do not transport hazardous materials, flammable liquids, firearms, controlled substances, perishable food, or live animals. Items not disclosed during the virtual walkthrough and not visible on the video call are not included in your flat rate and may be subject to additional charges or may not be moved.

Access requirements. You are responsible for ensuring legal access to both your origin and destination addresses on moving day, including any HOA approvals, elevator reservations, or parking permits required. Delays caused by access issues are not our responsibility and may affect your final time and cost.

Right to refuse service. VYV reserves the right to refuse service or to stop a move in progress if conditions present an unreasonable safety risk to our crew or to your property.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Changes to these policies. We may update these policies at any time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Entire agreement. These policies, together with your signed moving contract, constitute the entire agreement between you and Validate Your Vision regarding your move.
